MINUTES OF MEETING HELD IN VILLAGE HALL, DENHOLM ON

MONDAY, 21st November 2022 Follwing the AGM

INATTENDANCE: 4 Members of the public

***A Quorum of ten households was not reached, the AGM was therefore abandoned, and a short council meeting followed***

MINUTES OF MEETING held on the 21st November 2022:

  1. Matters Arising:

Christmas arrangements – G Crew advised Christmas carols, mulled wine etc would be organised as usual. It was agreed by the committee the tree would be erected on the 3rd December, and the “lighting up” of the tree would be the 4th @ 6PM. G Crew would see this was advertised in the village newsletter

Christmas Tree Bulbs – S Tait stated the lights for the tree would require some new bulbs, and it is common practice to keep several spares. A budget of up to £200 was unanimously agreed.

Children’s Christmas Party  – G Campbell requested a donation towards the cost of a under 5’s Christmas party. A donation of £50 was unanimously agreed on receipt of a formal request from the school.

Boxing Day Hunt – J Biggar had received correspondence from the Jed Forest Hunt requesting permission to use the green for their annual hunt on boxing day. Discussion ensued. It was unanimously agreed a donation of £50 to be requested along with provision of Public Liability insurance and a risk assessment. It would also be requested any dog fouling created by the hounds be cleared.

Resignation – At the close of the meeting A.Massey tendered his resignation as chair, however would remain on the committee as a council member until the next AGM.

Discussions took place after the close of the meeting in regards to the way forward for the committee. No plans are in place and as there is now no trustees in place for the charity the constitution would need to be referred to for the correct way forward.
