MINUTES OF COUNCIL MEETING HELD IN CHURCH HALL, DENHOLM ON
THURSDAY, 15th JUNE 2023 at 7.00pm

MINUTES OF MEETING HELD ON 24th MAY 2023: These were briefly discussed but left for approval at open meeting to be held on 20th June 2023
RIDE-OUT REPORT FOR 2023: Report by Doreen discussed and agreed by council members. Full report will be included in minutes of meeting to be held on 20th June 2023.
Extra points discussed noted that Doreen had compiled a detailed document of timing and duties required for Ride Out. John stated that Lakes Loos when collecting Toilets said many organisations were ordering extra small urinals. Costings to be checked for another year.
It was also agreed that another year contact should be made earlier with the Common Riding Officials. Vicky looking into who best to contact.
E V CHARGING POINTS: George stated very little to report other than email from
D Ploughman (Vice Chair of D & D CC). This will be reported in detail at open meeting.
CAR BOOTS: Doreen’s report agreed and will be minuted in minutes of meeting to be held on 20th June 2023.
Only other point discussed was John to fully liaise with Wendy regarding arrangement for August Car Boot Sale being held in conjunction with Hizzy Run.
CIRCULATION OF INFORMATION: Adam explained present set up with Feuars Website, Emails and Facebook. It was agreed all minutes should be posted on this ASAP after any meeting. It was also agreed all Green Events be posted to keep village informed.
Doreen as Secretary to also keep Adele Gourlay, Editor of Village newsletter, fully informed.
Minutes plus details, such as Ride Out Report, Car Boot details etc. New notice board on Green also seen as a way forward.
Adam to liaise with Chris keeping him fully informed of all emails, enquiries etc.
PLACEMAKING MEETING: This meeting was organised by D & D C C to take place on 20th June 2023 but as this clashed with Feuars meeting it has been postponed. It was felt this was an opportunity to being fully involved with village as we should have the same objectives as D&DCC.
FEUARS PLOTS:
- Plot 1: It was agreed that this required immediate tidying up. This to be implemented ASAP. Also further discussion on future use.
- Plot 3: It was discussed and agreed by Council Members that Mr & Mrs C Ryde take over lease of shared plot previously leased by Gordon Ferguson and has been vacant since January.
Minutes of Meeting held on Wednesday, 24th May 2023
DEAN: A lengthy Sub Committee Report by Chris, which again will be minuted in full following open meeting, was discussed and agreed. It was agreed by members that we should contribute 10% to any application made to D&DCC for a Grant from Wind Farm Money for signage at Dean Entrance.
BONFIRE: Discussion on whether a much smaller and more controlled village bonfire should take place this year. This left open for views from village at open meeting.
Adam to contact Auld Cross Keys as to whether or not they wish to organise Fireworks Display.
HADDON & CROWE: It was noted Trustees were meeting with Mr Rickett to discuss Legal Matters and Land Registration.
FIONA BENTON: A meeting has been arranged with Fiona Benton of Borders Community Action Group to obtain advice.
INSURANCE: John & Doreen to summarise full details of Insurance Cover.
TREE SURVEY: This matter requires attention. Chris agreed to look into requirements that we should follow.
