MINUTES OF MEETING HELD IN CHURCH HALL, DENHOLM ON

WEDNESDAY, 24th MAY 2023 at 7.00pm

MINUTES OF MEETINGS WERE APPROVED AS FOLLOWS:

17th April 2023  Approved on adoption by John Biggar, seconded by George Thom

15th May 2023   Approved on adoption by Adam Massey, seconded by George Thom

16th May 2023   Approved on adoption by Chris Ryde, seconded by Scott Tait

THERE WERE NO MATTERS ARISING

RIDE-OUT SATURDAY 3rd JUNE 2023:   John as past Chair detailed as follows arrangements already agreed and in place for this event:

  1. Toilets (Arriving Thursday)
  2. Skip Hire (Arriving Friday)
  3. Burger Van & Fun Fair (Kenny Stewart)
  4. Charlie McCrerie (Setting Out Ropes etc)
  5. Gifts for Officials (Scott reported these had already been received from Sandy Milligan.  The Cross Keys as in past years agreed to pay for these)
  6. On day assistance.   Doreen/John + 1 or 2 required for Gate, at least four for Car Parking duties.
  7. The Charge of £10 per Car and £5 for Gazeboes agreed
  8. Tidying-up after the event all present at meeting agreed to assist with this.

ACTION: 

  1. Doreen to agree with Village Hall to allow use of Tables and Chairs for presentations.
  2. Chris will contact Doug Crew regarding Dump Bags
  3. Doreen to check with Sid Huddard that he was still available for ceremonial duties and also with Graeme use of P A System from church.
  4. Scott to finalise programme and note that Gates would close at 8.00pm and liaise with Adam to publicise these details on Website, Facebook etc
  5. Adam & Doreen to finalise Risk Assessment noting Scott as main organiser.
  6. Scott to agree with Pelosi (Ice Cream) Charge.

CAR BOOTS:   The following agreed:

            18.06.2023 in conjunction with Guthrie Run organised by J Steel and gives a donation

            16.07.2023 This to be organised by ourselves

27.08.2023 in conjunction with Hizzy Run organised by W Oliver but Car Boot to be organised by ourselves

       ACTION:

  1. Chris to agree with Doug Crew use of display board.   It was also noted Boards available from church
  2. Adam to advertise re social media and look into display boards at each end of village

Minutes of Meeting held on Wednesday, 24th May 2023

DEAN & QUOITING HAUGH:

This Was discussed in some details with a sub committee from those present of Chris, Vicky and Graeme, although not present agreed to be involved.  Vicky requested details of Gift from Michael.   Helen suggested village fund raising if extra finance required.

      ACTION:

Chris and Vicky approaching other parties interested by inviting them to join this committee including Forest School organiser.   Any other in the Village wishing to be involved contact Chris.  His email is: chrisryde@hotmail.co.uk

E V CHARGING POINTS:

George reported on meetings with Community Council where sites on Feuars Land of Fisherman’s Car Park and South East Corner of Green agreed as suitable.   A sub committee of George, Adam and Rae formed to take matter forward and liaise and  work closely with other interested parties.

     ACTION:  

Doreen as Secretary to communicate with Community Council Secretary, Will Roberts by email agreed.

CIRCULATION OF INFORMATION:

It was agreed Minutes from Meetings be circulated and agreed ASAP then passed to Adam for Website, Facebook etc.   Doreen to prepare these for display on Notice Board.

     ACTION:

Chris to check if Notice Board used by Community Council could also be used by

ourselves.

BANK SIGNATURES:

It was agreed that these would now consist of Scott Tait, Chris Ryde, and Doreen Biggar.  Doreen to organise.

            This to be an open Meeting in Village Hall on Monday, 19th June 2023 at 7.00pm
