Our Objectives
Denholm Feuars & Householders Council is the body responsible for the land gifted to their Trustees, to be managed for the benefit of the village, by Mrs Palmer Douglas, in 1946, and the Lower Dean gifted likewise by Mr Michael Braithwaite in 2019. Mrs Mary Douglas or Palmer Douglas of Cavers in a Disposition and Deed of Gift dated 1946, (“the property”), gave land to the Trustees for Denholm Feuars’ and Householders’ Council namely the Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson and Secretary and their successors in office, and in so doing wished to promote the conservation of the physical, cultural and historical heritage of Denholm along with the provision of recreational facilities for use by the inhabitants of Denholm.

Land Administered
The Denholm Feuars & Householders council manage several areas of land within the village including:
- The Green
- The “wee” Green
- The Quoitinghaugh (the land to the left of the bridge as you leave the village towards Minto)
- The Fishermans car park / bottle banks
- The lower Dean – More Info
- Several other smaller patches of land around the village, most of these are rented to help fund the upkeep of the larger communal areas

If you would like to join the council, or even just help out keep a eye on the Latest page to see when our next public meeting is. Any member of the public is welcome to join our meetings. If you would like to join you can sign up at our AGM (usually held in November) or join as a co opted member anytime. Membership is open to any person who owns or rents a property within the village boundaries, maximum 1 vote per property.
